Dano Sahulka

After articling with the provincial prosecutors in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Dano travelled to British Columbia to become a federal prosecutor. Between fishing for salmon and long trips up mountain trails, Dano prosecuted a wide range of federal offences, including contraventions of the Fisheries Act, employment insurance fraud, and narcotics offences. He was involved in all aspects of criminal prosecutions, including reviewing search warrants and charging information, prosecutions in the provincial and superior courts, and appeals.

After 5 years in British Columbia, Dano moved to Toronto where he joined the Integrated Proceeds of Crime section. Stationed right in an RCMP detachment in Newmarket, Dano worked hand-in-hand with police officers from forces throughout Ontario preparing warrants to search and seize property, applications to intercept private communications, and restraining and forfeiture orders for offence-related property. He assisted in training officers regarding legal issues and drafted the Restraint Application and Order used by the Proceeds of Crime units throughout southern Ontario. During his stay at the Proceeds of Crime section he conducted countless forfeiture hearings and secured the forfeiture of millions of dollars in offence-related property.

Since 2008, Dano has been an associate at Starkman and associates and has defended clients charged with a wide range of criminal offences.
